Richly composed inexpensive materials support flexible, highly creative environment

For the New York offices of a Los Angeles based film and television production company, a 7,000 sf downtown commercial loft was given a contemporary expression using inexpensive but rich-looking materials and indirect ambient lighting.

The private offices and conference rooms were created in a sequence of enclosed spaces oriented off the grid.  The central open space acts as the main circulation and gathering place.  Offices are separated from the corridor by a wall of angled fiberglass and swinging cherry panel doors pinned underneath a soffit. The two interior conference rooms open up off this space, with large 12’ high cherrywood sliding doors creating the front wall. Soft material, high ceilings and narrow windows allow the interior conference rooms to feel spacious and light filled.
